All our Podiatrists are accredited with the Australian Podiatry Association.
Accreditation requires completion of a regulated amount of professional development and maintenance of standards of practice required by the Australian Podiatry Association.
Our Podiatrists are in regular consultation with leading medical professionals including GPs, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Rheumatologists, Diabetic and Vascular Specialists, Paediatricians, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Remedial Massage Therapists and Personal Trainers.
Linda established this practice in 1980 following graduation in Podiatry from the Queensland University of Technology. Linda was awarded the Harley Surgical Award for excellence in Podiatry as a student. Linda worked part time at Princess Alexandra Hospital while establishing Coorparoo Podiatry Centre. She also lectured at QUT in Podiatry for five years during which she was involved in Sports Podiatry Research. Her subject areas included Orthotic Construction and Design, Biomechanics and Podiatric Medicine (Theory of Podiatry). She was the President of the Australian Podiatry Association (Qld) and State Representative on the Australian Podiatry Council. Linda was contracted as the inaugural Consultant Advisor to the Department of Veterans' Affairs in Queensland. Linda is an accredited member of the Australian Podiatry Association and a member of Sports Medicine Australia. Linda has regularly given lectures to various groups including Sports Medicine Australia, Sports Trainers, Sports Physiotherapy Masters students, footwear retail fitters and community groups.
Linda has three children, Ellie who is a Podiatrist, Luke at UQ and William in Year 11.
Claire joined this practice in 2003. Claire worked in Hong Kong, rural NSW and Canberra from 1996 until 2002 where she gained extensive experience in Biomechanics, Paediatrics and Sports Podiatry. Claire has been consultant Podiatrist to many sports teams including the Canberra Raiders and the ACT Brumbies as well as athletes from the Academy of Sport and the Australian Institute of Sport. Claire has a special interest in football, dance and podopaediatrics (podiatry care for children). Claire is an accredited member of the Australian Podiatry Association and a member of Sports Medicine Australia. Claire has returned from maternity leave and is available for consultations on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Samantha joined the practice in 1989. Sam was a clinical tutor at the Podiatry Department of the QUT and a consultant Podiatrist at a multidisciplinary sports medicine practice in Macgregor with Linda Garbett in 1989 -1991. Samantha has also been a consultant Podiatrist to retail footwear outlets providing tuition in fitting footwear and orthotics devices to retail fitters. Samantha left practice for a short time to have a family and has a daughter Kate in Year 7 and a son, Max in Year 5. Samantha has continued to attend many national conferences and courses to maintain her accreditation standing with the Australian Podiatry Association. She has a wealth of experience in Podiatry with a special interest in general care, diabetes, footwear and Paediatrics (children's foot problems).
Andrew joined Coorparoo Podiatry Centre in 2007 after completing his Podiatry degree from QUT. Andrew comes from a background in Town Planning where he finished his first degree. He realised that he preferred to help people rather than buildings and completed his second degree in Podiatry. Andrew has continued to add to his expertise by attending conferences in Biomechanics, Sports Injuries, Foot Mobilisation and Paediatrics. Andrew has special interests in general podiatry, sports injuries, diabetes and adolescent growth problems. Andrew is an active runner and touch football player. He is an accredited member of the Australian Podiatry Association and of the Sports Podiatry Group.
Carmen joined the practice in 2005 after family leave. Carmen has three school aged children. She has 20 years of experience in Podiatry both in Australia and the UK. She has a special interest in diabetes and general care. Carmen has also maintained her accreditation with the Australian Podiatry Association.
Debbi Preston is our practice manager. Debbie has completed her Certificate in Practice Management from the University of New England and has implemented many improvements to our administration to improve our efficiency and provide quality services at the front desk. Please speak to Debbi if you have any concerns or wish to suggest any improvements.
Leigh is our receptionist on Tuesday afternoons and Mondays and Fridays.
Jan is our receptionist on Monday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.
